In a medium bowl, mix garlic powder, olive oil, vinegar, basil, salt, and pepper.
Combine shrimp and marinade in a large sealable bag and marinade in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
Soak skewers for at least 30 minutes. Take shrimp out of bag and discard marinade. Pierce shrimp through the top and tail of each shrimp.
Lightly oil grill grate. Grill shrimp for about 2-3 minutes per side or until opaque.
